
Nic Wilson is a writer, editor & Guardian Country Diarist based in North Hertfordshire. She has nearly 30 years’ writing experience in academia, education, journalism & narrative non-fiction. She works for BBC Gardeners’ World Magazine, specialising in wildlife & wild plants. Her writing has featured in many magazines, journals & anthologies.
Nic’s nature memoir, Land Beneath the Waves, is published by Summersdale (Hachette). She’s passionate about literature, natural history, gardening & the environment. Nic has lived with chronic illness (coeliac disease & adenomyosis) for many years. She volunteers with her local Wildlife Trust, helps organise a community wildlife group & curates the Peat Free Nurseries List.
Nic’s qualifications include an MA in English Literature, a Diploma in Creative Non-Fiction & a Secondary PGCE. She taught English A Level for 12 years & worked as an examiner for OCR. Nic is a member of the Society of Authors & Garden Media Guild.
